Today we made a nice January Walk a small hike through the nearby ravine of the Paradise Valley here at our campsite. It was a nice walk through the sun and shadows of the rocks.
Sunny January Walk through the gorge of the Paradise Valley
The magnificent Paradise Valley can be found along the route from Aourir to Imouzzer. Just a few kilometers from our campsite this unique place extends along the valley of Tamrhakht. The valley of Tamrhakht belongs to the western foothills of the High Atlas Region of Morocco. Most visitors from the Paradise Valley continue to the palm groves and gorges of the Tamrhakht River to the mountains towards Imouzzer.
Luckily however there are very few visitors in this season what makes it so enjoyable. The “Asif Tamrhakht”, known as “Paradise Valley”, is one of the most beautiful valleys of South Morocco. The Paradise Valley is about 1 hour from Taghazout, Agadir is about 45 minutes and from our campsite about 20 minutes by car.
I would be accompanied by two well befriended campers who also had their little dog with them. For a small hike with dogs makes this place in January perfect! There are very few tourists on road and you can let the dog run free.
Between the rugged, unrivaled rock walls high above the Tamrhakht winds toward the sea. He carries enough water with him to make a palm jungle grow in the narrow ravine. You can walk along the ravine, past the water basin filled with water and the extremely interesting rock formations below the Valley.
If you stay with us at the campsite I recommend a walk through this beautiful rocky valley.
It is so beautiful in my valley – also in January – so beautiful that it was called “Paradise Valley”. Whom the valley has given this name, nobody knows. It was discovered more than 20 years ago by hippies who have come to chilling to Morocco. At that time, Morocco was still the meeting place for flower power, as were the loving and peaceful Europeans as well as the Americans – unfortunately these times are over!
